Macaron
Narrator: Something small is suddenly huge.
Journalist: Smell so good in here.
Chef: smell like macaron.
Journalist: Yes!Macaron. Those brightly-colored meringue sandwich cookies from Paris, are now everywhere in America. French pastry chef Francois Payard makes 60000 macarons a week,
Narrator: And ships them all over the country.
Journalist: People are obsessed with them.
Chef: I think because it pretty.
Narrator: And pretty tasty too.
Journalist: Is it normal that my mouth is watering?
Chef:Yes! If you let me (to) get it excited to it.
Narrator: Excited about something so seemingly simple. Almond flour, sugar, egg whites, all sandwiched together.
Journalist: Oh
Chef: It’s
Journalist: There it is.
Chef: Perfect
Narrator: But getting them perfect is less about cooking and more about chemistry. Even the weather outside is a factor
Chef: If it’s raining, the shell will get to be too soft. "If it is too cold, the shell will get maybe too hard.
Narrator: Rain or shine, these cookies are hard to resist in any flavor.
Chef: This one is vanilla. This one is pumpkin. Now this one is pistachio and you see it would be crunchy. This one is mixed up with passion fruit.
Narrator: And did we mention chocolate?
Chef: It’s very dense, very intense in chocolate, I want you (to) taste this one.
Journalist: Oh, you've done it, that's it. Right there. That's it. Perfection.
Chef: You see, but each one is a little bit different.
Journalist: Right there
Chef: You see but each one..
Journalist: That's it
Chef: Is little bit different
Journalist: Perfection
Journalist: Wow! thank you
Narrator: America is thanking Chef Payard. He says his sales are up almost 30 percent this past year alone.
Narrator: You might just called it a labor of love .
Chef: It's so much more than a cookie.
Journalist: You love the macaron
Chef: Yes,
Journalist: I can tell.
Chef: No, it's true.
